UNIVERSAL INTERACTIVE'S SPYRO: ENTER THE DRAGONFLY HEATS UP THE NINTENDO GAMECUBE IN FOURTH QUARTER 2002

Universal Interactive, Inc., a studio of Vivendi Universal Games, announced today that its multi-million-selling video game character, Spyro the Dragon, is scheduled for release on Nintendo GameCube. The title, "Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly" will also be published for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

The game is the sequel to "Spyro: Year of the Dragon," Universal Interactive's best-selling title for the PlayStation game console.

In the new adventure, Ripto returns with a plan to steal the Dragonflies of the Dragon Realms. To combat his foes, Spyro's existing set of abilities will be enhanced with innovative features such as electric, ice and bubble breath. Equipped with his newly acquired skills, amazing new vehicles, and help from new and old friends, Spyro must find a way to return the Dragonflies and restore order to the Dragon Realm.

"The tremendous success of 'Spyro: Season of Ice' on the Game Boy® Advance revealed the enthusiasm of Nintendo gamers for the Spyro gameplay experience," said Jim Wilson, president of Universal Interactive. "UI has combined the best aspects of previous games with new concepts to deliver a next-gen Spyro game to this loyal fan base."

The Spyro franchise has sold more than 11 million units worldwide and is the winner of the 2002 All Star Award from the Children's Software Revue for the title "Spyro: Season of Ice." Developed by California-based Equinoxe Digital Entertainment, "Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly" has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
