ATV OFFROAD FURY2 HEIGHTENS THE MULTI-PLAYER GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE AS THE FIRST "MUST-HAVE" ONLINE RACING TITLE FOR PLAYSTATION 2

Sequel to PlayStation 2 Million-Plus Seller Raises the Bar in Offroad Racing With Enhanced Multi-Player Features, All-New ATV's and Massive Environments

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the release of ATV Offroad Fury(tm)2 developed exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

Following in the footsteps of the original, ATV Offroad Fury 2 provides intense, free-roaming offroad racing gameplay, packed with additional courses, large environments, extra modes, mini-games, ATVs and all-new online gameplay via the Network Adaptor (Ethernet/Modem) (for PlayStation® 2) for an immersive racing experience.

ATV Offroad Fury 2, developed by Rainbow Studios and produced by Sony Computer Entertainment America, San Diego development studios, is the first online racing title for PlayStation 2 and supports up to four players per game via a broadband or dial-up connection. Through both on- and offline gameplay, players will be able to tear it up anywhere and blaze their own trail, choosing from more than 20 ATVs including licensed models from various manufacturers. In addition, every featured ATV is realistically modeled, allowing for realistic handling and reaction in extreme weather and terrain such as mud, ice, snow and sand.

"In ATV Offroad Fury 2, we take advantage of the highly successful gameplay of its predecessor to present an even more, in-depth racing experience with all new features," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America.

"ATV Offroad Fury 2 will set the stage for national gameplay competition with the online mode, allowing multi-player racing to reach new heights on PlayStation 2."

"Kawasaki is very excited and pleased to partner with Sony Computer Entertainment America for the launch of ATV Offroad Fury 2," said Kawasaki Motors Corp, U.S.A. "We are certain this sequel will be met with the same type of overwhelming response created by the original, providing a perfect place to showcase our newest ATV, the 2004 Kawasaki KFX700 V Force(tm).

As ATV Offroad Fury took gaming, video and graphics to a new level, the KFX700 V Force raises the bar in the ATV arena with the only V-twin power plant and race inspired chassis and suspension available in the sport ATV market."

Playable from both first- and third-person perspectives, ATV Offroad Fury 2 offers players the ability to race in 40 massive environments through six event types, as well as compete in exciting new mini-games including Tag, Hockey, King of the Hills and Treasure Hunt. The six event types include: Enduro courses, Nationals courses, Supercross courses, Freestyle courses, Short Tracks and a Training course.

ATV Offroad Fury 2 features six race modes including: Practice, Freeride, Lap Attack, Single Race, Championships and Duel. For all modes, players can customize their rider with their own name and number, clothing, helmet, boots, etc. In addition, players can create their own race within an Enduro environment. An all-new soundtrack is available encompassing guitar-rock, hip-hop and electronica, featuring top bands including Garbage, Korn, Filter, Cypress Hill, Alien Ant Farm, System of a Down and many more. Via an in-game jukebox, players will have the ability to not only identify the songs they are listening to but also choose the songs they want to hear.

The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated ATV Offroad Fury 2 "E" for Everyone.
