EA SPORTS Names Jarome Iginla MVP of NHL 2003As Hart Trophy nominee, and Pearson Award finalist Jarome Iginla awaits the announcement of this year's winners, Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS) has named Iginla as its MVP of NHL(R) 2003. EA has agreed with Iginla for the superstar to be its cover athlete and spokesman for the latest iteration of the number-one selling NHL interactive video game franchise. "I played EA's NHL games growing up," said Iginla. "I'm really honored that they've asked me to represent NHL 2003 and it's cool to be a part of the elite line-up of athletes that have represented the EA SPORTS brand." Previous spokesmen for EA's NHL video game franchise include: Mario Lemieux, Owen Nolan, Eric Lindros, Chris Pronger, Peter Forsberg and John Vanbiesbrouck. In 470 appearances for the Calgary Flames(R), Iginla has scored 174 goals, and added 189 assists. Among his 2001-2002 accomplishments, Iginla led the league in goal scoring (52) and in points (96), and led the Flames in plus/minus (+27), all contributing to his nominations for the NHL's prestigious Hart Trophy, an honor bestowed upon the NHL player designated most valuable to his team, and the Lester B. Pearson Award, awarded to the NHL's most outstanding player as voted by members of the NHLPA. Iginla has also earned the Art Ross Trophy as the League's leading scorer and the Maurice Richard Trophy as the top goal scorer in the NHL. "Jarome
