ENIX ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER SHIP DATE FOR ‘DRAGON WARRIOR® VII’

The ‘Year of the Dragon Warrior’ Culminates on November 1!

As thousands of Dragon Warrior fans prepare for the launch of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 on September 25, Enix America Inc. today announced that Dragon Warrior VII, the fourth Dragon Warrior title being published this year, will be released on November 1.

Available for play on the PlayStation® game console, Dragon Warrior VII was originally released in Japan as Dragon Quest VII and has sold more than four million units, making it Japan’s best-selling PlayStation game console game ever.  Across all platforms, Dragon Warrior VIIranks as the third best-selling video game in Japan of all time.

"Based upon the tremendous sales success of Dragon Warrior III for the Game Boy® Color and the anticipation surrounding the launch of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2, there is no doubt that the Dragon Warriorphenomenon has crossed the Pacific and hit our shores," said Paul Handelman, president of Enix America .  "With the overwhelming success of the franchise this year and strong support at retail, an October ship date forDragon Warrior VII makes sense strategically as it will afford us the time to respond to consumer demand during the key holiday season."

An epic game of magnificent proportions, Dragon Warrior VII follows the adventures of the hero, his mischievous friend Prince Kiefer and the feisty Maribel who discover that their island home holds more than peace and tranquility.  Solving time-traveling puzzles transports the trio back in time where they discover lost continents.  Once in the past, it is imperative that they solve the mysteries of the continents in order to save the future.  Accomplish this task and the world will be complete.  Fail, and the lost lands and their inhabitants will be forever doomed.

Enix has upgraded the graphics of the Dragon Warrior series in Dragon Warrior VII to utilize the power of the PlayStation game console to create real-time 3-D environments and fluid combat animation.  Fans of the series will note, however, that the depth of story and engrossing RPG experience of Dragon Warrior VII remains true to other recently released titles in the series, including the hit Dragon Warrior I & II, Dragon Warrior IIIand forthcoming Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 for Game Boy Color.

In addition to the deep story of the main scenario, the users will enjoy additional features such as development of a new town, creation of a monster park and collection of Tiny Medals in exchange for rare items.  The composition of the town changes based upon the types of residents, and the residents of the town may be traded among Dragon Warrior VII players using memory cards.

Dragon Warrior VII was created by the masterful trio of Yuji Horii (game design), Akira Toriyama (character and monster design) and Koichi Sugiyama (music). Fans hoping to get some early insight into the game can visit the official Dragon Warrior VII web site located at www.enix.com.
