Infogrames and Gremlin Interactive bring us PGA European Tour which is the first golf game based on the European Tour. The main menu offers you these game mode: Quick Start where you can start an 18 hole Strokeplay round on a random course. Non-Tour Golf has 3 game types to choose from Strokeplay, Multiplay and Skins. All these game type can be played by yourself or with others depending on which player grouping you choose: Single, Fourball and foursome.
The practice option will let you practice your putting, driving or an hole of your choice. If you play a Non-tour game you can set-up the round meaning that the round type, weather, wind Pin position, Gimmies and Mulligans can be adjust. Start New Tour is the main mode where you compete to become the best golfer on the PGA European Tour. In this mode the player and the Tour type like long or short can be selected. In order to become the number one player you must go through several events. |
You start at the Amateur Season then the Qualifying School then the PGA Tour. The first thing you will notice when you start the game is how poorly the graphics are which is very disappointing specially for a golf game. The game play also is lacking. when you play you see no crowds and the replay is very limited. Peter Allis is describing the game but the comments are to repetitive and on the same tone. It will also fail to keep your attention very long.
This is the first Golf game that has the license of the European Tour so you will play on the actual courses the K Club and the Druid's Glen from Ireland, the Kungsangen in Sweden and the Quinta do Lago. The sounds is good you can hear the surrounding and the birds well. PGA European Tour allows you to play on the European Tour but fails to make this game stands out from others and to keep your interest very long. |
