Named as CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering
Award Honoree enTourage Systems, Inc. today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for the enTourage eDGe™. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 36 product categories. The enTourage eDGe, a multi-functional interactive dualbook, is the first-ever device to combine an e-reader, notepad, netbook, audio/video recorder and player into one. It allows users to read e-books, surf the Web, write notes, send emails or IMs, listen to music, record/watch videos, record audio content and convert text to speech, on a comprehensive platform. It is comprised of two screens, an e-paper and LCD screen for easy multitasking and backs up all documents to enTourage Systems servers. The device folds a full 360 degrees and can orient its displays horizontally or vertically to view as a book, laptop or only one screen. enTourage Systems is building its own e-book store with access to more than one million free public domain books digitized by Google, over 200,000 trade books and major newspapers, magazines and periodicals, with text books coming shortly. With the enTourage eDGe, users experience a controlled eco-system, from enTourage Systems unique e-book store, to device sharing and document back-up keeping the user environment complete and safe. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center and will also be featured at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 5.
