New planes, maps featured in Fighter Ace update

Jaleco Entertainmentä this morning began offering a free update to its popular Fighter Aceä PC game, supplying subscribers with new warbirds to pilot and new mission maps to explore.

The update, known as Fighter Ace 3.6, expands the world of the critically acclaimed 3.5 version. Released in November, version 3.5 was the first Fighter Ace game on CD-ROM in its six-year history and is enjoyed by legions of Fighter Ace faithful online. The 129-Mb update includes 11 new planes, four new maps, a revised point system, upgraded physics and other enhancements. Fighter Ace 3.6 soars past the competition by delivering more flyable aircraft than any other game on the market with a whopping 107 planes.

New maps include such historical areas as the Western desert of Egypt and the North Cape coast near Murmansk, Russia. Fictional environments – a volcanic island with steep, narrow canyons and a mountainous landscape with elevated airfields and long, wide valleys – are an added bonus for adventurous fighter pilots.

New planes include the Nakajima G5N Shinzan, Mitsubishi A6M7 Zero, Chance-Vought F4U-4C Corsair, North-American B-25D Mitchell, North-American Mitchell II, Hawker Hurricane Mk.IID, Yakovlev Yak-9UT, Messerschmitt Bf-109E-1, Messerschmitt Bf-110C-4/B, Messerschmitt Bf-110G-2/R3, and the Focke-Wulf FW-190F-8.

"The Fighter Ace team was very pleased with the launch of 3.5 and wanted to add amazing new features for the enjoyment of our loyal community members and to attract new users," said Fighter Ace Producer Michael D’Agnillo. "The addition of planes and maps will add even more strategy and excitement to an already engaging experience. We encourage those interested in playing a state-of-the-art air combat game to check out Fighter Ace and take advantage of this new update."

Current Fighter Ace subscribers can access the free update at http://fighterace.jaleco.com. The full Fighter Ace client is available as a free download from http://fighterace.jaleco.com. A $9.95 monthly subscription fee applies. The retail version, for sale at select retailers, includes a CD key good for three months’ free online gaming.
