Nintendo Announces Canadian Launch Date for Game Boy Advance

Nintendo of Canada today announced a Canadian launch date of June 11, 2001 for its highly anticipated Game Boy(R) Advance handheld. Powered by a 32-bit CPU, Game Boy Advance represents a major leap forward in portable gameplay, displaying up to 512 colours simultaneously with stunning graphics.

Nintendo's Game Boy(R) Colour represents more than 50 per cent of all hardware systems sold through in Canada in 2000, as many as all consoles combined. This success has brought the total of Game Boys sold worldwide to 120 million units. The backwards compatibility of the all new Game Boy Advance allows gamers to continue playing their favourite Game Boy games.
