What is Game Boy Advance?
Nintendo's 32-bit Game Boy Advance is the revolutionary
all-new version of the best-selling Game Boy video game
system, which has sold more than 110 million systems
since its release in 1989. With a new horizontal
orientation and dual shoulder buttons, Game Boy Advance
boosts the screen size by 50 percent and displays more
than 500 times as many on-screen colors as Game Boy
Color. The system features high-resolution graphics on
its 2.9-inch color LCD screen, supports four-player
gameplay and has the ability to play virtually all Game
Boy and Game Boy Color games. Game Boy Advance has been
designed to work in conjunction with NINTENDO GAMECUBE in
the future.

How powerful is Game Boy Advance?
With Game Boy Advance's 32-bit RISC CPU, the system is
several dozen times more powerful than Game Boy Color,
capable of producing high-resolution, console-quality
graphics on the compact portable video game system, equal
to high-definition TV.

What are the display capabilities of Game Boy Advance?
Game Boy Advance is capable of simultaneously displaying
up to 32,768 colors on its 2.9-inch reflective TFT color
LCD screen - a display 50 percent larger than that of
Game Boy Color. With a resolution of 240 by 160 pixels
and crisp detailed graphics displaying more than 38,000
pixels on a wide-screen, Game Boy Advance boasts the best
graphic resolution of any portable video game system.

Is Game Boy Advance similar in design to the original
Game Boy and Game Boy Color?
Although the system stays true to the rich heritage of
Game Boy, the system has been completely re-designed.
With its new horizontal orientation, larger LCD screen

gameplay for the ultimate in portable fun.

How much will the system and games cost?
Game
Boy Advance will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail
price of $99.95US and139.95CAN. Software titles will
retail in the range of $29.95US to $39.95US and 49.95CAN
to 64.95CAN.

What colors is the system available in at launch?
Game Boy Advance will launch in three different colors:
Indigo (violet), Glacier (translucent blue) and Arctic
(white). Fuchsia (translucent pink) will be available on
June 25, 2001.

What is the battery life of the system?
With a power supply of 2 AA batteries, Game Boy Advance
allows for up to 15 hours of continuous play compare to 8
to10 hours on the Game Boy Color.

Can Game Boy Advance play multi-player games?
Yes. Using a Game Boy Advance link cable (sold
separately), up to four Game Boy Advance systems can be
linked up for head-to-head action in multi-player
compatible games. Some multi-player games are capable of
basic multi-player features using a single
"host" game pak (one pak, four players), while
other games will offer enhanced options by using a game
pak in each system (four paks, four players).

Can I play my Game Boy and Game Boy Color games on Game
Boy Advance?
Absolutely. Game Boy Advance is backwards compatible with
virtually all of the Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles.

Can I play Game Boy Advance games on my Game Boy or Game
Boy Color?
No. Due to the advanced technology of Game Boy Advance
software, these next-generation games are incompatible
with previous Game Boy systems and can damage your system
if used incorrectly.

Is Game Boy Advance compatible with Game Boy Camera?
Yes; however, images will still be captured in black and
white.

When will Game Boy Advance be available at a store near
me?
Game Boy Advance launched in Japan on March 21, 2001, and
debuts in North America on June 11, 2001.

What games will be available at launch?
Nintendo will be introducing Super Mario Advance®, the
revolutionary new next-gen title in the legendary Super
Mario Bros.® series, and the fast-paced futuristic
racing game F-ZERO®: Maximum Velocity with Game Boy
Advance. In addition, a broad range of third-party games
will be available at launch including Tony Hawk's Pro
Skater 2, Chu Chu Rocket! and Rayman Advance. In all,
more than 60 exclusive Game Boy Advance titles are
expected in time for the 2001 holiday season, developed
and published by companies such as Activision, Konami,
3DO, Namco and more.

How much does Nintendo plan to spend to market Game Boy
Advance?
Nintendo has budgeted $75 million in marketing support
for Game Boy Advance in 2001.
