Wing Commander Secret Ops

ORIGIN TO RELEASE WING COMMANDER: PROPHECY EXPANSION SET CALLED WING COMMANDER: SECRET OPS

Origin to Unveil Wing Commander: Secret Ops on August 24th, 1998.

Wing Commander: Secret Ops is a free add-on for Wing Commander: Prophecy, with new downloadable missions every week, and adds Multiplayer Capability to your Wing Commander: Prophecy!!!

Starting August 24th, players will be able to download a Software Package (around 50MB) that allows them to play Wing Commander: Secret Ops, and includes the first few missions of the game. Origin will then release more missions every week (a couple megs each) for about seven weeks, in the end totalling 56 exciting missions. Each mission will continue along the storyline.

Beginning this week, www.secretops.com will open up, revealing movies, stories, and other information that has to do with the Secret Ops add-on. One unique thing that Origin will be doing is gradually telling everyone another part of the storyline, one week at a time. This will further increase the suspense until the final release day.

Generally, the story in Secret Ops is that from Wing Commander: Prophecy, but you will be playing a different character, and may even find some interesting other characters throughout the game. Also, the game's difficulty will be similar to Wing Commander; Prophecy, in the sense that missions get harder/easier depending on what's happening around you.

Wing Commander: Secret Ops includes new ships and numerous other enhancements to make the game better. Origin also thinks that by releasing the missions one week at a time, it will build up so much suspense that players will be literally drooling for Origin to release the next package of missions.

Wing Commander: Secret Ops information will be available at www.secretops.com. (For now, there is only a Macromedia Shockwave animation that builds a little suspense for whats to come.)
