Get your Wanzer ready to fight ! |
We are transported in the year 2112 with Mechs from Front Mission 3 called Wanzer. Developed by Square Soft and published by Electronic Arts, Front Mission is the only series of role-playing games to use the concept of the popular "Mech". Front Mission 3 contains two different scenarios. One is to defend the Ocean Community Union from a rebel group, the other is to be a member of the rebellion. Here are the principal characters that you will find throughout the game. Kazuki Takemura is a student and tester of the Wanzer robot, as is his friend Ryogo Kusama. His half-sister Alisa Takemura is a student at the University and Emma Klamsky works in a military laboratory.
More Wanzers When you start the game you will have a simple tutorial that will present how the game works and how to proceed through it. Throughout the 60 levels there are 100 combat skills to discover. The Wanzers can be equipped with 11 types of weapons like the Neutron Beams, Flamethrowers, Spikes and Fists, which offer a total of 50 different weapons to be acquire. At the end of the each mission, your efficiency is evaluated by giving you medals, like Platinum, gold, silver, and Bronze. The style of play differs from other role-playing games, because on top of having levels like other RPG's, you can easily change your path through them by your choices. Different from the Final Fantasy series, the monsters do not appear suddenly while you're walking, instead there is a little scenario that introduces each combat encounter. Front Mission 3 is very focused on the concept of the Wanzers. Each part of the Wanzer can have an ability that can be lost when the HP falls to 0.

Nice Wanzer There is also 5 kinds of Shields, 13 backpacks and 10 computers to make your Wanzer perform better. There are 30 kinds of Wanzer and the different pieces of equipment, weapons, and protection can be purchased in some stores. It is also possible to steal the Wanzer of another during combat. When you access the computer in Front Mission 3 with the "Internet" option, it is possible to change the wallpaper of your computer, vote for your favorite school, send E-Mails to other characters, or gather information about your enemies. It would have been nice if the characters would have spoken, because there is a lot of reading to do. Most of the characters are quite immature, getting angry often, arguing among themselves. The explosions and the short circuits that the robots undergo when they break down is well done. Most of the time the ambient sound is very realistic, especially during the animations. Changes in the intensity of the sound will let you tell how far away they are.
Choose where you want to go It is interesting and unique to see how the health points are divided among the anatomy and when they are damaged, their performance falls. For instance if the right arm's HP drops to zero, it will fall off entirely. The loading time is short. The view is better than Front Mission 2. Also the camera is improved because it turns much more gradually. Front Mission 3 will capture attention because it is an original RPG where you interact with robots called Wanzers. It will surely be appreciated by fans of the series and the Mechs. |
