G-Darius Continues the Theme of Gradius in a New Mission!

It's been quite a few years since the last release of a game in the tradition of Gradius. Finally, the wait is over. G-Darius continues the theme of Gradius and takes the action higher! A mixture of the old gameplay and the new 3D graphics, G-Darius will propel you into new environments with intense enemies. Prepare your weapons for a final assault!

Once more, Taito has excelled in bringing a classic to the PlayStation console. As you begin, you are given the choice of how to play the game, as a Beginner or against a Boss. The goal is to shoot without being destroyed. The eye candy backgrounds can sometimes be a bit distracting, especially when you are attacking, and that can disturb your concentration.

The choice of weapons is vast and new to the older versions of Gradius, you have added features such as the Capture Ball system which allows the player's ship to use the enemy's ship either as a weapon, a bomb, a shield, or as a Super Laser. G-Darius also has gigantic monsters Bosses with great graphics which take quite a few shots to kill. The mixture of graphics in both 2-D and 3-D lend themselves wonderfully to all the missions.

G-Darius is a simple and fun game that reminds me of the Super Nintendo and arcade games. Taito knows how to satisfy gamers and I have no complaint with this title. If you like PS shooters, I encourage you to pick this one up as G-Darius is a good challenge. It's also a good game to pick up as a gift for the coming Holidays for a shooter-fan on your list.
