Mobil 1 Rally Championship is a reproduction of the real Official British Rally Championship of the same name. Developed by HotGen Studios and published by Electronic Arts, Mobil 1 Rally will give you the chance to see the countryside of Great Britain, scattered over 400 miles of on and off-road terrain.

The main menu has 4 game mode: Championship, Arcade, Time Trial Single and you can play up to 2 players in the multiplayer mode.

There are all 36 stages of the Official Championship with more than 20 licensed cars to drive. After the race, you have to repair the damage that your car has sustained. Your car also has to be inspected before each race to meet the standards. Also it is possible to make improvements to the car.

In order to add realism, you can see dirt collecting on the car. Also the car can be damaged when you race, reducing performance and showing signs of wear and tear such as a cracked windshield.

When you race you will encounter different terrains and different temperatures, with snow or rain, affecting the conditions of the race.

The developer of the PC version, Magnetic Fields consulted many real drivers like Martin Rowe, Julian Porter and many others.

Many companies have collaborated to make this game as realistic as possible. Principally, Mobil 1 Rally Championship, Vauxhall Rally of Wales, Pirelli, International Rally, RSAC Scotthish Rally, SEAT Jim Clark Memorial Rally, Stena Ulster Rally, Sony Manx International Rally and Motor Sport Association.

Different professionals also contributed to the concept of the game: John Horton, Derek Ringer, Claire Moie and Tony Masson.

In Mobil 1 Rally Championship you will be able to race with real licensed cars, like Renault, Volkswagon, Nissan and Honda.

Mobil 1 Rally Championship is quite realistic, but only if you race well, keeping on the road. Where it lacks is where you get off the road, the scenery acting just as walls instead of real objects when you run in to it. Collisons between cars will not affect you too much, you can not get into any bad accidents or spectacular crashes. Also when you get off road your view is limited.

This game has some little interesting details. Occasionally after an accident, the contact will cause your lights to malfunction, blinking on and off. Also when the muffler or motor get damaged you can see the fumes coming out and hear the car "Backfiring". The weather effects are good too, for instance the sun can blind you, and you can see the film of water being wiped off when it rains.

The dashboard inside the car is done well, you can see the driver switch gears while you race.

You will see people on the side of the road taking pictures of you as you drive by. The music gives you a good ambience while you race.

Mobil 1 Rally Championship lacks in realism at the accident levels and off the roads but is more geared toward the Official British Rally Championship and racing on the road itself.
