Time to have fun with Tetris ! |
Tetris was invented over ten years ago in the Soviet Union by a man called Alexey Pajitnov. He use to program games to test new computer equipment and in 1985 he try to program the puzzle game Pentamino in real time.But since positioning a five square blocks was more dificult then he thought. So he created a game with the four square blocks instead and named his game Tetris from the greek tetra. The game goes like this 7 peices with 4 square blocks of different shape falls from the top and you must arrange them so they form a straight line.Well not always that easy anbvious because they dont always fit the way you wan and they keep coming one by one non stop. You have the original Tetris game that is 7 peices with four square blocks nad The Next Tetris is with 2 type of pieces: Tetramino and Multimino. Tetramino is a prce with all the same color.Multimino peice is one with 2 color meaning it can do the new feature witch is call: Cascades. A Cascade will happen when there is space below one of the color then it wil separe and then fall off below as far as they can du to the gravety fdeature thsat they added.

"you can play by yourself!" A new feature too is a the the fact that when a new peice falls beside one of the same color they merge to form a bloc. The playing feild is 10 x 20 Blocks for both.Everytime you form a straight line it dessapear. In the original Tetris the more you erase the more point you get. On the Next Tetris they place some block at deferent place to start with and you win when you clear the bottom to win. In the next Tetris you have the marathon mode where you race against the clock. You have also the the multiplayers mode where you play against an other and the first one to clear the bottom wins. the grafics is not that great but the gravity effects are good in The Next Tetris looks like the blacks might break on you sometimes when you have a few cascades one after one. The music is tecno Russian it might quite be what you want but no problem just go get your favorite cd, put it in your playstation and voilà perfect music.The multiplayer mode with the split screen is quite fun though. The Next Tetris like you can see will have you think of new strategies with all these new features to win so if you like puzzles this is a new game for you to try. |
