Bring your Pokémon from your Game Boy to your Nintendo !

Since September 1998, North America has not been the same with the arrival of Pokémons that stole forever the hearts of many gamers. Nintendo, who started here with the Blue and Red Game Boy Games, brings us their latest game of this famous series, Stadium Pokémon, but this time on their Nintendo 64.

Was it always fun fighting other Pokémon trainers, but you wanted more fighting? Well Pokémon Stadium is ideal for you then. Remember the Greek and Roman arenas where you had an amphitheater where they took 2 prisoners and had them fight to the death for entertainment? Well this is just like that except this time you take your cute little, or sometimes big, ou will notice about this game is that the box is twice as big because they have included a N64 Transfer Pak. The Transfer Pak allows you to transfer your already trained Pokémon from your Gameboy to your Nintendo 64. If you do not have any they have some already trained for you to use.

In the menu you have 3 game modes. Battle Now will allow you to play right away with a Pokémon suitable for fighting.

The Event Battle gives you the chance to play with a friend.

The main mode is called Trainer's Plaza and is divided in 7 sections. Stadium is where you can play by yourself in four different tournament Cups.

With Free Battle you can play up to four players at the same time.

the Gym Ladder Castle will have you play against Gyms Leaders from the Red, Blue and Yellow Pokémon.

Pokémon Land is where you can organize and trade your Pokémon.

Statues of Pokémon allows you to view the Statues that you have won so far against others Gym Leaders or in other Stadiums

Ready to fight ?

GB Tower will let you play your Game Boy Games on TV through your Nintendo 64.

Kids Club is where you will have the chance to see some of your favorite Pokémons compete in different mini-games.

Like I said before this game is strictly for fighting or competing there is no story line. Some that are not familiar with Pokémon might find it a bit boring at first but will certainly enjoy the mini-games, because the mini-games are based on certain abilities of some Pokémon. Like you find Rattata running and jumping over fences while the camera does a 360 degree around it. Or with the Sandshrew we need to dig as fast as you can in order to get to the water first. You have 9 mini-games in total, more would have been welcome.

If you like the fighting part about Pokémon you will enjoy the Stadium option where you go head to head with another trainer with 6 of your Pokémon in order to win one of the 4 Cups. Each has rules and requirements that your Pokémon have to meet in order to participate. 150 Pokémons are available in this game for you to select at one point or another.

Also now you can view your favorite Pokémon on your TV in 3D. Additionally the Transfer Pak that is included also works with Mario Golf.

They also feature a nice option called The Gallery where you can take pictures of your favorite Pokémon. Choose a photo in your album then put either 1 photo per stickers or 4 arranged, then save it on your Pokémon Station Game Pak and take it to your nearest Pokémon Snap Station to get it printed.

Pokémon Stadium is a place to fight and have fun, no story line or forest to walk through, no just plain fun fighting and some minis games to amuse you some more. So if fighting is what you like in Pokémon or you just want to see your favorite Pokémon grow on TV you will certainly love this game.
