Walt Disney Home Entertainment and Keystone Family Pictures present Air Bud Spikes Back, the fifth movie of this famous series of this beautiful golden retriever named Buddy. This time in his new adventure Buddy will become a volleyball player and it will give him the opportunity to play with Gabrielle Reece. The story start with Andrea's friend Tammy moving to California. Since all her efforts to make money to fly to California fails the new kid on the block named Connor is actually from California and he likes playing volleyball. After knowing Andrea's situation he offers her the chance to play on the team since the team that wins gets a free trip to Malibu, California. Andrea agrees and train hard for the finals but at the last minute one of the player has to leave the team so Buddy is called to fill the missing position. The scene in the park where the robber throws up could have been left out of the movie. The DVD has only a very short Bonus feature, a set-top game and some bloopers mmore would have been welcome. But a movie with with animals is always pleasant to watch specially fans of this series will be able to see their favorite dog Buddy using his latest skills to save the day again. Not only dog lovers will like the movie but parrots lovers as well. The scenes with the parrots really add a special cachet to the movie, the scenes are well done and are either quite funny or very cute. Air Bud Spikes Back is quite an unique movie since it is not everyday that you see a dog playing volleyball with a star like Gabrielle Reece combine with a parrot that eats ice cream. Plus like all the Walt Disney movies the message is positive and teach that perseverance, hard work and friendship brings opportunity at your doorstep when you least expected. |
