LADYDRAGON.COM - SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals

Developed by Zipper Interactive and published by Sony, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs is a tactical combat game done exclusively for the PlayStation 2 and is the first game done by Sony where you can play Online over the Internet with your friends.

SOCOM stands for Special Operation COMmand and SEAL for SEa, Air, Land. They are small tactical unit with less then 25 specialized and highly trained marines that are use for unconventional warfare like fighting against terrorisms. There are 2 Game modes to choose from Single or Online game.

In the Single game you play the role of an elite SEAL commander named Kahuna with Boomer who will watch your back, your unit will be called Able Element. There is an other unit under your command called Bravo Element with Bayley and Dimone that will obey your order. There is a menu where you can give tactical command like Fire at Will, Cover Area, Hold Fire, Ambush and Deploy while you play.

You will travel over the world like Alaska, Thailand, Congo, Turkmenistan where there are12 missions divided in Primary and Secondary objectives that you need to accomplish in order to progress in your game.

Your missions will consists of ambushes, chases, hostage taking, search and rescue, demolitions, laser designating targets, night fighting, reconnaissance and clearing buildings.

There are over 30 weapons that you can use like handguns, assault riffles, shotguns, machine guns, explosives and grenades.

In the Online game mode you will be able to play either as a SEAL or a terrorist and with a maximum of 8 players on each teams. By pressing the Square key you will be able to talk to the other players on your team since there is a Headset with a USB port connection included in the package.

There are 3 Gameplay to select Demolition, Extraction, and Suppression with over 10 maps to choose from.

Unfortunately when you play the Online game you can not speak and play at the same time since you always have to press a key to communicate with others. Since decisions need to be made fast within seconds more often then not if you warm your friend of danger well you get killed.

You will also notice that the SEAL are a bit harder to kill since they can camouflage themselves better and have better weapons.

The graphics are nice and the level are huge and designed in ways where you can actually climb on top of houses as a sniper or hide in prone in a dark corner for a surprise attack.

The game has the Dolby Surround Prologic 2 so if you have a surround system, you will be able to hear from which exact directions you are getting fired at.

If you like military strategy game, you will like SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs since it offers you the ability to play Online so therefore many hours for you to play different strategy with your friends.
