Hop on pop! |
Having a
4 year old nephew that has a attraction to my computer
(he likes to smash the keys) I decided that he would be
perfect to test the Dr.Seuss Kindergarten
CD-ROM. So we loaded it up. From his reaction I
would say he loved this CD. Two days into my test of it he came over and began telling me "puter play". He loved the games and the story. He really liked the music and the sounds the characters made. He never got bored and was sad when he had to leave. The reason why is easy to see after you play the program a few times. The game involves you helping Gerald McGrew build a zoo. You need to find animals to fill up the zoo. How the child does this is by playing different games. The games are all easy to play and kids love the animation. The music and voice acting are superb. My test kid (my nephew) loved to watch the animation but he was perhaps too young to understand all the games completely. The lorax has come to help |
Lots of things to do His mouse skills are lacking so he just told me where to click. When he is older I am sure he will love it. All the games are rewarding to play and you can adjust the levels of play for each. The CD has over 200 lessons and 50 Dr Seuss characters. If you have kids or know someone who does have a kid about 3 or 4years old, then this CD is a lot of fun. The Dr Seuss touch is perfect and kids know it right away. One thing noticed that sometimes you can click on more than one character at a time and have 2 or 3 things talking at once. This can be confusing for the tots I would think because it freaked me out! The CD is packed with games, stories and music that teaches kids in a very subtle way. Bravo Broderbund. |
