ACTIVISION SHOWCASES COMPELLING LINEUP OF 13 CONSOLE TITLES AT E3

Slate Features Games for Action-Sports, Action-Adventure and Racing Genres

Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) is set to debut a compelling lineup of games for the PlayStation game console, PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo 64 and the Xbox ™ video game system from Microsoft at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. The games, which will be available beginning this spring, span the action-sports, action-adventure and racing genres.

"Our E3 console slate underscores Activision’s commitment to growing our market leadership position on both the current and new console systems," states Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. Action-Sports Genre:

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 (Nintendo 64)

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster skateboarding game, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Players can choose to skate as Tony Hawk, the most legendary skateboarding pro of all time, or as one of 12 top pro skaters. The sequel delivers the most authentic and cutting-edge skateboarding ever and ups the ante by introducing new features including additional skate moves, new pro skaters, expanded multiplayer modes, a skater customization option and a skatepark editor. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is being developed by Edge of Reality and is expected to be available this summer. The title is rated "E" ("Everyone") by the ESRB – Animated Blood – content suitable for persons ages 6 and older.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x (Xbox)

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x is being designed to take full advantage of Xbox’s technical capabilities, as well as continuing the standard of quality for which the brand is known. The game will feature the franchise’s signature gameplay, intuitive controls, all of the levels from both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 and the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, in addition to more populated environments, brand new levels, realistic special effects and smoother lifelike animations. The inclusion of networked multiplayer gameplay will further bring the skateboarding experience to life. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x is being developed by Treyarch LLC and is expected to be available this fall. The game is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 (PlayStation game console, PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Xbox)

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is the revolutionary sequel to the best-selling sports game of 2000. The game builds on the success of the franchise by featuring richer graphics, smoother life-like animations and significantly improved tricks and bails. Players perform hundreds of trick combinations in a variety of realistic, obstacle-filled locations. The game’s expanded multiplayer modes and skate park editor increase its replayability for the ultimate in skateboarding fun. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment and Shaba and is expected to be available this fall for the PlayStation game console and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and in the winter for Xbox. The titles are currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Shaun Palmer’s Pro Snowboarder (PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system)

Shaun Palmer’s Pro Snowboarder lets fans build a pro career as snowboarding legend Shaun Palmer or nine of the sports’ best riders. Players take their skills to the edge as they shred through 10 of the world’s top snowboarding locales and discover first hand the secrets of the slopes. Players work their way up the ranks of the pro circuit by landing huge tricks in freestyle competitions or snatching the gold in boardercross. Featuring the latest gear from the athletes’ sponsors, the game lets players ride the boards that the pros are using as they pull powder slashes to a cutting edge, alternative soundtrack. Shaun Palmer’s Pro Snowboarder is being developed by UEP Systems and is expected to be available this fall. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX™ 2 (PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system)

Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX™ 2 continues the unparalleled thrill of BMX biking, while taking full advantage of next-generation technology. Featuring Mat Hoffman, the most legendary pro BMX rider of all time, and seven other top pros, the game challenges players to perform hundreds of trick combinations and signature moves in over 10 enormous levels. For replayability, gamers can build unique pros with the Create-A-Rider feature or build their own park with the BMX Course Editor. Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX 2 is being developed by Rainbow Studios and is expected to be available this winter. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX™ (PlayStation game console, Sega Dreamcast™)

Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX™ delivers the most authentic BMX biking experience to gamers. Play as either Mat Hoffman or one of seven other riders, and perform hundreds of freestyle tricks in a variety of realistic vert, street and dirt courses. In addition, with the BMX Course Editor, players can build their own custom BMX course with ramps, rails, funboxes and a variety of other obstacles. Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX for the PlayStation game console and Sega Dreamcast are being developed by Runecraft Ltd. and Shaba Games and are expected to be available this spring and summer respectively. Both titles are rated "E" ("Everyone") by the ESRB – Animated Blood and Mild Animated Violence –content suitable for persons ages 6 and older.

Action-Adventure Genre:

Spider-Man: The Movie (PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo GAMECUBE)

Spider-Man: The Movie allows fans to play as Spider-Man in highly detailed, 3D environments inspired by the upcoming Columbia Pictures/Marvel Entertainment live-action feature film hitting the big screen May 3, 2002. This full-roaming, action-adventure game will allow players to jump into the suit of a fledgling Marvel super heroÔ and learn how to battle the forces of evil. Players crawl, leap and swing from the dizzying heights of skyscrapers to catch criminals, super-villains and, ultimately, come face-to-face with the Green Goblin in a death-defying display of aerial combat. During the course of the game, players must use Spider-Man’s "Spider-Sense," agility, quick wits and strength to evade pursuit and overcome obstacles. Spider-Man: The Movie game is being developed by Treyarch LLC and is expected to be available in the summer of 2002. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Spider-Man 2 Enter: Electro™ (PlayStation game console)

The most recognized super hero of all time, Spider-Man will wield his own brand of justice in Spider-Man 2 Enter: Electro, the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s blockbuster game. The 3D fast-paced action-adventure allows players to use Spider-Man’s trademark skills, as well as all-new moves, web attacks and fighting combos as they battle their way through all-new levels and training missions. Featuring enhanced fighting and combat sequences, the game challenges players to utilize Spider-Man’s super strength and superior wit to battle evil-doers, solve a variety of puzzles and defeat a whole new lineup of notorious super-villains. Spider-Man 2 Enter: Electro is being developed by Vicarious Visions, Inc. and is expected to be available this summer. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Fighting Genre:

X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 (PlayStation game console)

The sequel to the action-packed favorite X-Men: Mutant Academy lets players take on the role of their favorite Marvel mutants. As one of 16 X-Men characters, gamers utilize their special powers as they train with Professor X. X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 features six new X-Men characters, all-new aerial combat, six new arenas, multiple new fighting combos, a quick get up move and costumes, set sketches and conceptual art sketches from "X-Men: The Movie." Each character has unique moves and combos. X-Men: Mutant Academy 2 is being developed by Paradox Development and is expected to be available this summer. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Bloody Roar 3™ (PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system)

The sequel to the critically acclaimed fighting series, Bloody Roar 3 offers fans the fast and fluid fighting action of its predecessors. The game, which was hailed by leading industry news source GameSpot Video Games as the best installment in the series, immerses players in a 3D, adrenaline pumping gameplay experience with 14 playable characters. Each character has the ability to transform from human to an alternate beast life form with special attack beast moves. Featuring single and two player head-to-head action, players must use their unique fighting skills to battle their way through nine different immersive environments that feature destructible walls and floors. Bloody Roar 3 is being developed by Eighting Co., Ltd. and Hudson Soft Co., Ltd. and is expected to be available this spring. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

Racing Genre:

Supercar Street Challenge (PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system)

A supercharged racing game, Supercar Street Challenge seats gamers behind the wheel of more than nine next-generation supercars that have been licensed from such renowned car manufacturers as Lotus, Bertone and Callaway. Players can create, design and race their own car using the game’s unique styling studio. Players can also compete in no-holds-barred races through the streets of seven interactive city environments. An exhilarating driving experience, the game boasts advanced AI, realistic driving physics, high-resolution graphics (60 FPS) and amazing handling. Supercar Street Challenge is being developed by Exakt Entertainment and is expected to be available this summer. The title is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.

World’s Scariest Police Chases™ (PlayStation game console)

Based on Fox Broadcasting’s popular car chase series, World’s Scariest Police Chases delivers full throttle hot pursuits and an array of police activity, including high-speed chases, robberies in progress and deadly shootouts. A wild, no-holds-barred driving game for the PlayStation game console, the title puts players in control of the action as a police officer chasing and apprehending law-breaking criminals. Perpetrators will lead players on a slew of hazardous, breakneck chases as they try to avoid being captured for such crimes as drunk driving, drug smuggling and terrorism. Players will pursue their suspects through a dynamic city, taking shortcuts and using aggressive tactics as necessary to apprehend them. World’s Scariest Police Chases is being developed by Unique Development Studios, produced by Fox Interactive, and is expected to be available this spring. The title is rated "T" ("Teen") by the ESRB - Mild Animated Violence and Mild Language – content suitable for persons ages 13 and older.

Game Show Genre:

The Weakest Link™ (PlayStation game console)

The Weakest Link is based on the top-rated television show in the U.K and U.S. hosted by Anne Robinson. The game gives contestants the challenge of working together to acquire a pool of money before the end of each round by answering a series of questions correctly. Once the round is completed, each contestant must vote the team member they believe to be the weakest link out of the competition, in an aggressive survival-style format, until only one contestant remains. Throughout the game, Robinson caustically exposes contestants’ weaknesses. The title is expected to be available this fall and is currently rated "RP" (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.
