Grand Theft Auto is a game developed by DMA Design and published by ASC Games in North America. It is extremely fun from the start, and doesn't get boring easily. Your goal through the game is to rise through the ranks of the criminal element which you attempt to achieve by stealing cars, running narcotics, performing hits, kidnapping, and other criminal acts. The viewpoint of the game is from the top down with a camera that zooms in and out depending on where you are and the situation you are in.

Grand Theft Auto contains three HUGE cities (Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas). Each city has numerous jobs you have to complete in order to move onto the next city. Some jobs are funny, some are hard, some are fun, and some just make you nervous. The variations and types of the jobs make this game even cooler. Police will chase you if they catch you doing something illegal, and they are very hard to get away from. In Grand Theft Auto, the way people act, the way the cars drive, and the way everything works is very realistic.

One of the coolest things about this game is the blood. Whenever you run over people and shoot people, blood comes out. The more realistic a game is, the more people like it...which is one reason this game is cool. Another cool thing about the game is all of the vehicles you can steal. You can take over 20 different cars for each city! These include Lamborghinis, Dodge Vipers, Tankers, Busses, and even a Tank (with a patch). This game also has 3Dfx compatibility, which greatly improves the graphical quality of everything! You also get some pretty cool weapons, including flame throwers, rocket launchers, an automatic machine gun, a pistol, and even your fists. You can walk up to somebody walking down the street then punch them in the face for no reason...it's really a fun game!

Overall, this is a really cool game. It doesn't get boring fast and the missions will provide you with days of nonstop fun. (Some missions can be pretty hard...) If you like the idea of being a criminal, you should get this game...otherwise, download the demo and see how you like it.
