Microsoft just came out with 3 Keyboards which has keys that can be programmable for different application including browsing on the internet.

We have tried the low end of those 3 called Microsoft Internet Keyboard. The first thing that you will notice is that is it a massive strong and big keyboard. It is very well made solid and will not break if you drop it on the floor by accident a few times. Also it can not be twisted or bend which makes it a stable and it does not move around when you type so it does not feel like a cheap keyboard.

It is easy to set up, you can either plug it in your USB or PS/2 port and included is the software to configure the keys on your keyboard.

The keyboard has 104 keys plus 10 hot keys. The Hot keys are already pre-program and named but can all be re program the way you like. The useful function of the hot keys not only can start any applications you want but can also be use when you are on the Internet.

It can start your browser, email program or let say you are doing research or comparing figured on 2 pages you can easily go back and forth by pressing back and forward on your keyboard without even touching your mouse. That feature is very useful if you are on the internet a lot it will spare your risk and shoulder a lot.

One Hot key is also pre-program to put your computer on the sleep mode right away just by pressing it so that you can avoid closing your computer if you want to save energy.

It also has a detachable palm rest that you can remove if you do not like it or if it takes to much place on your desk.

As for the regular keys on the keyboard they have labels the ones that are use with the control keys to help the one that are not familiar with those shortcut like the select al , find, copy, paste, open and print.

the negative side of this keyboard is the noise. Beside the hot keys all the others will make a lot of noise every time you type. It is very annoying specially if you are trying to type and they are no other sound then your typing. Also the keyboard takes a lot of space on your desk but you can remove the palm resting bar to make more place. It is not ergonomic but the higher hand of this series is.

On the other hand it is done solid and since it is big you have more space between keys then the usual keyboards.

If you can get pass the noise of Microsoft Internet Keyboard you will found that it is a solid one with hot keys are quite useful to spare your risk and finger if you spend a lot of time on the internet.
