From the famous series of Madness from Microsoft, a new kind of race have just been made. Microsoft is the makers of Monster truck Madness, Motocross Madness and many more, but now they really pushed the limits with their new game called Midtown Madness. Developed by Angel Studios and published by Microsoft this game promised many fun since the beginning.

Ever wondered how much chaos could happen right in the middle of a city driving at maximum speed with your car or your truck? Well if you want to experience it without having to go to jails, Midtown Madness is for you. All races take place in the famous city of Chicago.

There are 4 mode of play. Cruise mode if you want to explore the city and know more ways to win a race when you will have to without any time limit and no opponent. The Blitz mode let you race against the clock and you will need to pass in every checkpoints to the finish line before the time runs out, no opponent except the traffics and cops that will complicate more your race. The checkpoint race is almost like Blitz except now you have adversaries and also the mode where you will see the most action from this game and also a lot of fun. Finally the Circuit mode let you race in different areas of the city and to win you do not have to race against the clock but you have to finish all laps before your adversaries.

There are 2 levels in this game. Amateur and Professional. Both are similar except that in professional you will have more traffics and shorter blitz time that will require you to know the city streets very well before adventuring in this level. All cars have their own handle like in real life which make this game a major enhancement to make this game more a simulation than an arcade game. Midtown Madness also offer you to play on MSN Zone where you can play against up to 8 real adversaries or by Lan.

Midtown Madness offer you Chicago in all its details. If you go there one day of actually live there, you will discover some place that you seen in this game. Traffics, pedestrian and cops can only provide pure fun.3 views to help you drive your car.2 externals and one internal including the dash.

Almost one and the only game that does not have problems in it. The only that some players might not like are the yellow walls ( the only game restriction where you can't go that way ) but everyone know that all games have restriction and so far no games offer a full city to explore, it would bring the most powerful computer to his knees.

The graphics are more than perfect, it is in fact a piece of art. Making those skyscrapers look like real life and making the cars paint reflect the sky, newspaper flying in the air cause you destroyed a mail box. Simply amazing how much details have been put in this game. Sounds is also very good .Each cars have their own engine sounds and you can hear the peoples yelling at you when you do something dangerous. The controls are really well done, supporting all latest technology for joystick like Force Feedback that give a new level of realistic in the game and of course more fun to the players that own this kind of joystick. Midtown Madness offer a really well done interface also. Its very simple to use and easy to understand for younger players.

Every fans of racing simulations will probably fall in love with Midtown Madness. It offer so much in one game that you have endless ways to have fun with it.A major add on for the Madness series that complete very well the collection of Microsoft and also the players of this game.
