LADYDRAGON.COM - Baseball 3D

Microsoft did a Great Job with Baseball 3d 1998 Edition. This is a great game, with an AWESOME Fun factor. It is just really addicting. I generally don't play sports games that often, but this is so cool! For example, the player's movement is ultra realistic! They walk, run, and act like real people would in a real baseball game! When you hit a ball, you hear the roaring of fans cheering, and clapping when you strike someone out! You also hear the "awwwwww" of fans when you strike out, or when you miss a good play. A great added realism event is when you hear a vendor in the background calling "Hotdogs! Get your Hotdogs here!" That makes you feel like you're actually in the ballpark enjoying the game!

There isn't really a story to this game because this is just your traditional baseball game...well, with enhanced graphics, plays, fun factor, and many other great options. Basically you have to win each game, one game at a time, until you get to the All Stars, then past that until you have beaten national teams, etc.

Now for some notes about this game's realism. The crowd noise in the background is extremely realistic, as you can hear people rooting and cheering for you. Although this can be a little annoying after a while, it really adds more realism to the game. The game's graphics are true 3d, with shading and perfect 3d textures on all of the guys. Although the crowd in the stands is flat, and you can see pointed edges on different parts of the players, this game's graphics are still some of the best I have ever seen. Another great thing about this game is that it runs perfectly in 1024x768 screen resolution with graphic detail turned on HIGH. Not many games can do that. Usually 3D games can provide 3d graphics, but with all of the options turned on high, the game slows your system to a crawl. In the highest resolution, this game runs SMOOTHLY without any lag whatsoever on a mere p180mmx with a voodoo2 8MB. That's amazing. Player movement couldn't have been better, and the game's just very very fun. If you love sports games, suggest you try this game out as soon as you can!
