ID Software Really did a great job on this expansion! As in Quake 2, the graphics are smooth and clean, and there are added sound effects, monsters, weapons, and more! I was really surprised at the new weapons, which are pretty difficult to explain. One weapon shoots glowing razor blades or something, and another shoots huge anti-matter charges (quite impressive!). You just have to see it for yourself. It's truly amazing.

The story starts you off with all of your buddies, each in their drop-pods, ready to go on a mission. Right after you drop, the Quake forces hit your pods with an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) that disables all of your shields. After that, everyone crashes...and as always, you're the only guy remaining, and you want to get some revenge! You land in a pond, your shotgun is next to you, and you're ready to kick some ass!

The Reckoning contains four large units, and each units has a bunch of levels that you must complete in order to move onto the next unit. Some of the goals in each unit are tricky, so you may have to go back and forth a couple times to get it right and proceed to the next unit. It's really cool

So More about the in-game experience. Well the first level, for example, contains a lot of caves. The mood is dark and spooky, and you can hear wind howling through the caves. As you get farther in the dark tunnels, the wind stops, and it gets darker, and you really get spooked when guys appear. It's really an awesome experience, and adds a LOT of extra fun to Quake 2.

Overall, if you own Quake 2, you just have to get this expansion. It's the perfect thing to enhance your Quake 2 Experience.
