Unreal's 3d Graphics Are Unmatched...Period! |
From the first scary moment when you realize all your prison friends are dead...to the last war on the mothership, this game is a hit. These graphics beat Quake2's...and every other 3d game out today. This is an actual "Quake Killer." With awesome lighting effects, 3d fog, scary sound effects, unbeatable graphics, and challenging puzzles, this game is nearly perfect! In the beginning, you are on a ship heading for a planet with your other friends in prison. Well into the process of being transported, your ship gets sucked into the gravitational pull of a planet, which is where most, if not all, of the fighting takes place. In the first level, you wake up in your prison cell and as you walk around and explore the level, you notice that the ship is falling apart, and even more frightening: everybody's dead! You are seriously hurt...your health is very low...there are blood stains all over, and as you walk through the level, things collapse...you can walk through the air ducts, and as you get farther in, the ducts get darker, and when you turn the corner, you find that a green mist (very realistic) is spraying out of broken pipes...

Now your field of vision is cut down to almost zero because of the green fog-mist...you can faintly see the bright shining of lights in your eyes (awesome effects) as you crawl ahead through the pipes...In the background, you hear screams of your buddies somewhere else in the level....extremely scary effect there. later on in the level, you walk into a room with a closed door in front of you. you can barely see under the door. after a second or two, a door closes behind you, and you hear screams and gunshots firing, and see the light from the shots shine under the door. when the door opens, you see body parts fly in front of you, and dead people everywhere...and a huge monster start running away... And this is just the 1st level of UNREAL. In the end, this game is a MUST. Its only downside is that it runs SLOW...This game ran moderately SLOW on a p200mmx with voodoo2. If you have a high-end system, you MUST get this game. (If you don't like 1st person shooters, at least give it a try.) If you have a system SLOWER than 200mmx and don't have a 3d accellerator, I wouldn't bother with it. If you have a Pentium 2 with Voodoo 3d accellerator: Get it :) |
