FIL-AM ACTRESS Jelynn Rodriguez, CAPTURES LEAD ROLE IN HIT WEB SHOW "Acts of Love & Sex" Press Tour BEGINS in The Philippines LOS ANGELES - Jelynn Rodriguez, Fil-Am actress who has worked with various Hollywood stars such as James Caan, Josh Duhamel, Christina Applegate, and Molly Sims, in television series such as "Las Vegas" and "Samantha Who?", strikes big with the lead role as a Filipino/Japanese American woman in the new, original web series "Acts of Love & Sex"- a fun, engaging, and oh-so-sexy comedic drama about the triumphs of love in the 21st century. Following the February launch of the series at www.AOLS.tv, Jelynn is set to tour the Philippines in March 2009 to gain support from Filipino audiences worldwide in helping promote the emerging success of Filipino/ Asian-American actors in international film and television. Set in Los Angeles, "Acts of Love & Sex," follows a multi-cultural group of friends that face the same life-changing decisions about love. Also co-starring in the show with Jelynn is Shalim Ortiz of NBC's "Heroes." As one of the first leading Filipino American characters in an original web series, Jelynn hopes that "Acts of Love & Sex" will break stereotypes and broaden opportunities for Filipino actors by introducing Filipino culture in the show. As part of the tour, she will showcase her unique singing and acting talent. Jelynn hopes that with her emerging celebrity status in Hollywood, and the help of even more Filipino audience support, Filipino/Asian-American actors and recording artists can continue to have open doors, and gain a major impact in Hollywood. Aside from acting and singing, Jelynn is known for hosting on numerous networks such as the TV Guide Channel, AMC, SiTV and most recently on Disney/ABC's Soapnet. She has interviewed some of the most biggest names in Hollywood such as Tyra Banks, Rachel Ray, Ellen Degeneres, Lindsay Lohan, Katy Perry, Justin Long, Mario Lopez, and many more. Jelynn has been featured on shows on Nickelodeon, MTV, NBC and ABC and held lead roles in the films Bar Starz and Grizzly Park. Jelynn is involved with the San Diego Asian Film Foundation and walked the red carpet at the 2007 and 2008 AZN Asian Excellence Awards in Los Angeles. Beyond working hard to represent Filipinos in Hollywood, Jelynn continues to volunteer her time doing philanthropy work to raise money and awareness for the children at the HOPE Worldwide Village in Baseco and Laguna, Philippines, (www.hopeww.org) and the Gina Alexander Philanthropy Projects (www.ginaalexander.com/philanthropy.htm) She considered quitting her entertainment career to devote her time to help these children, but decided to continue on her career path and use her celebrity influence to help encourage the children to have hope and better their lives, as well as inspire people to do more and give back to those in need. Jelynn Rodriguez, who is proudly Bicolana and Cebuana, was born and raised in San Diego, California. Jelynn was inspired to pursue an entertainment career from her aunt Missy, who played the role of Kim in the First National Touring Company of the musical "Miss Saigon".
