Victoria advance to her first Semi-Final ina Grand Slam. The first game of the match was played on court #1 but rain stopped the play after 1 game. The match was moved to central court. Well 1-0 for Tamira and since the match restarted Victoria was on fire winning the first 5 game for a 5-1 lead . Finally Tamira wins a game, 5-2. Now Victoria serving for the set. Leading 40-15 and all sorts of errors gives the game to Tamira, 5-3. Victoria regroups and a ball in the net from Tamira give the first set to Victoria in 49 minutes, 6-3. Victoria holds to 15, 1-0. A fantastic winner from Victoria where she hits the ball out of court under the net to break, 2-0. The rule allows you to hit the ball below the net as long as the ball falls good. Victoria running away with the match now holds to Love to take a 3-0 lead. The first hold in the second set from Tamira, 3-1. All Victoria since then where she win the second set 6-1 and the match. Victoria was agressive, took the ball early and was relentless with 30 winners combined with great serving 74% first serve gave her this wonderful win. In the Semi-Final, Victoria will face Petra Kvitova who defeated Tsvetana Pironkova earlier today. |
