EMTEC Upgrades Professional Flash Drive Range for Both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 Interface

LEWIS CENTER, Ohio--(LadyDragon.com)30/11/11--EMTEC, a leading manufacturer of USB flash drives and accessories, recently introduced a new style of flash drive to the brand's professional range. The S530 USB flash drive and the S550 USB flash drive both feature a sleek, brushed metal design with water-resistant rubber-coated protection around the hub.

The EMTEC S530 flash drive is specifically designed for the security-conscious user. The S530 includes tamper-proof AES hardware that ensures the security and integrity of the stored data. For additional protection, the Lock security application requires user authentication via password.

Encryption is a secure method of data protection. A government standard AES algorithm acts as a padlock for data; the only way to unlock the data is to use a key (custom password). The 256-bit AES hardware on the EMTEC S530 is one of the strongest, most reliable options. The data encryption/decryption does not compromise performance and there are no software installations; the AES hardware runs independently from the computer.

The S530 Secure USB flash drive features read speeds up to 25 MB/s and write speeds up to 15 MB/s. Available in capacities of 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB, the S530 features plug-and-play functionality with Windows 2000 SP3/SP4, XP, Vista and 7; and Mac OS 10.4 or higher.

The sleek metal design is also available on the S550 USB 3.0 flash drive, which allows performance rates up to four times greater than USB 2.0. With read speeds up to 100 MB/s and write speeds up to 70 MB/s, the S550 is available in storage capacities of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The S550 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7; and Mac OS 10.4 or higher. A USB 3.0 port or express card (Mac) is required for the high speed USB 3.0 performance. The S550 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

The S530 and S550 USB flash drives will be featured at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Select members of the EMTEC team will be in attendance, where they will conduct retailer meetings with retailers in a reserved meeting place in the South Hall 2, Ground Level (MP25159) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
