Maria Sharapova wins over Petra Kvitova at the 2012 Australian Open By LadyDragon MELBOURNE, Australia--(LadyDragon.com)26/01/12--Maria victorious over Petra will play in the Final of the 2012 Australian Open against Victoria Azarenka. Petra serving first. 1 all then Maria breaks, 2-1. A double fault followed by a ball in the net give back the game to Petra, 2 all. 3 breaks in a row, Maria retakes the lead combine with a hold, 4-2. Maria on fire and breaks again to now serve for the set, 5-2. Dispite a 0-40 start, Maria fights back to actually win the first set, 6-2 in 36 minutes. Maria playing with a fighting spirit today. Now it is Petra that is fighting back by winning 3 games in row, 3-0. Long game but finally Maria keeps her serve, 3-1. Petra holds to 15, 4-1. They both hold, 5-2 and now Maria serving to stay in the set. Quick hold to Love from Maria, 5-3. Petra serves an ace on her second serve to win the game to Love and the second set, 6-3 in 40 minutes. Well Maria out hit by Petra in the second set. 1 all then Petra breaks, 2-1. Maria breaks right back, 2 all. Long close game, Maria saving a few break points and takes the lead, 3-2. Petra holds to 15, 3 all. Very long game again but Maria holding again, 4-3. An other quick hold for Petra, 4 all. Much better serving game from Maria this time she held to 30 without any drama, 5-4. Petra now serving to stay in the match. Maria breaks to 15 to win the third set in 56 minutes. Maria won with her fighting spirit and the beleive in herself, this match really showed what Maria is made of. |
