SimCoaster

In 1994, Theme Park was the first game to be release of this series then 4 years later Sim Theme Park came along and now Bullfrog brings us the latest one SimCoaster.

The main change in SimCoaster is that now you have goals that needs to be achieve if you want to progress in the game.

SimCoaster begins with a clip where you see the president Mr. Maybury talking to you who is telling you that he wants to find suitable replacement because he wants to retire.

He has you in mind but before you can replace him you need to prove that you are worthy of the position and that you know how to run a park so that is why you start as an assistant manager and will have goals to achieve through out the game in order to move up the ladder.

Expand your park

You will start building your park in the Land of Invention. There, your first objective is to attract 40 visitors in order to expand your park and to start doing research. Then you will have other land you can build on like the Polar Zone and the Arabian Nights.

When you start your career you will have a cute blue Advisor that will guide through out the game. She will give you important information when you need it or come to tell you that something of a pressing matter needs your attention like staff that wants to go on strike or simply tell you that a visitor is cause trouble in your park.

You have everything to create your park like sideshows, shops, bathrooms, plants and over 100 rides plus the staff you need to help you run your park. After you have progress in the game you will be able to do research to get upgrades and new rides.

Then you have an option called the Coaster Design Kit where it allows you to create your own roller coaster to way you want and save it so you can put it in your park or send it to a friend if you want to.

You can even take a postcard picture and email it to a friend too.

Ride in your own Roller Coaster

Create big Roller Coasters

After your ride is functional you have the ability to ride it to see how it feels. There is a Camcorder to record it  also.

Beside the objectives there is Challenges that will be send to you from the Directors. If you complete a Challenge with success it can earn you cash money, extra shares, a promotion or a Golden Ticket that allows you to open special rides.

This is also a new feature where you can see special statistics on your visitors and your rides that will help you monitor your park better.

Although you can take a ride in your roller coaster you cannot do like Theme Park Roller Coaster and participate in a game or just simply walk around your park as a visitor.

This game is a bit more focus on you managing your park, it might be  overwhelming for some when your park is big because there is lot to focus on at the same time and if you do not anticipate some situation before it occurs you might find yourself doing a lot of fixing.

Cute little Advisor

Like if you hire the staff but you do not create a staff room right before or after we will get a message later that your staff is unhappy about the condition and you need to create a staff room now or else they will go on strike. Creating it is no problem but while you have like 2 or 3 messages of that sort you might run out of time before you get to it.

The new feature like design kit and email to your friend is quite fun to use specially the making of a roller coaster.

The sound effect in the game are really good like if you take a ride in your favorite roller coaster not only you hear the sound of it moving but you will also hear you know that metal sound rubbing against each other where you think is it a solid ride ? That really had a lot of realism to it.

SimCoaster although it can be complex at time to manage it will interest the fans of Roller Coasters with the Coaster Design Kit so that you can create your own unique ride.
